A tiny light in the fog, a hidden message on the wind.
THE WEATHER MACHINE is an immersive event constructed around the weather conditions of the day on which it takes place. The audience is situated at the heart of an unfolding landscape, following a disjointed, poetic text as the atmosphere around them takes shape: a cloud forms from the ground and moves upwards, a wind blows past, it begins to rain. Sound seeps from radios hidden in the grasses.
David Shearing and THE WEATHER MACHINE is supported by a Sky Academy Arts Scholarship in association with IdeasTap. Made with financial support from Arts Council England. THE WEATHER MACHINE is commissioned by & developed at West Yorkshire Playhouse, in partnership with stage@leeds.
